What devices will play my course?
You can participate in the course on any device that can play videos. This includes smartphones, tablets, PC’s and Mac’s.
What equipment do I need?
For the kids course, any compact camera will be great as they work well in small hands. We use the Nikon Coolpix W100's throughout the online course.
For the teens beginner course we recommend a bridge or DSLR camera.
Do I need any photography experience to take this course?
No, our courses are designed for beginners! It’s structured to enable you to learn one step at a time, building your knowledge as you work through the course.
Do I have to watch all the lessons in order of the curriculum outline?
The courses are written in an order to help you build on each weekly skill, but you are also welcome to move around the lessons at your own pace.
Can I access the lessons more than once?
Yes, you have full access to your course forever! Read them once or as many times as you like, it’s up to you!
What does the online kids and teens course involve?
The course is made up of 8 weeks of fun videos and assignments. The weekly assignments are full of camera setting information, great compositional tips, and inspirational photos taken by pupils the same age! Each weekly assignments has a video, course booklet, inspirational photos and fun quiz.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
We’ve written 8 weeks of inspiring assignments, but you can always take longer or whizz through it faster- your choice!

Is this course approved by the DofE?
Yes, we are an approved provider of photo skills courses by the DofE.
For the DofE Online course, what equipment do I need?
A DSLR or a good quality bridge camera
Do I need any photography experience to take this course?
No, our courses are designed for beginners! It’s structured to enable you to learn one step at a time, building your knowledge as you worth through the course.
Do I have to watch all the lessons in order of the curriculum outline?
The course is structured to open the assignments weekly in the order that we’ve written them. Every Sunday you will be able to see your new assignment. All the helpful information and important documents will be available to view throughout the course.
Can I access the lessons more than once?
Yes, you have full access to your course for 3 months. Read them once or as many times as you like, it’s up to you!
How long will it take me to complete the course?
3 months, spending an hour each week on each assignment.
What does the course involve?
The course is made up of 3 webinars and 12 weekly assignments. Each lesson explains a different aspect of photography and gives you practical tasks to go out and complete yourself, finishing the course with a fantastic portfolio and certificate of completion for your DofE bronze or silver 3 month skill.
How long are the webinars?
1.5 hours, packed with camera settings and techniques, critiques and fun tasks to use your new knowledge!
